Nécrologie de Rose Bourgeault
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Rose Bourgeault on June 4th 2023.
Rose was born in Hearst on September 8th 1929 as the only child of Anna Clarin and Carl Palmquist, both born in Sweden. Being athletic, Rose played many sports. A social butterfly, you could find her at all social activities and parties. Friends have always been an important part of her life and she has cherished them very much. Rose worked at CIBC, Hearst Lumber and at Michael's law firm. She was a devoted volunteer in several organisations including the Cancer Society.
Rose married Jean Paul Bourgeault in 1953, they were a beautiful couple, full of love which they easily shared with their family and friends. You could find them dancing the night away at parties. They had two sons, Michael (Louise Gingras) and Douglas. Rose has always been a fierce defender of her sons. Her moto was if you don't defend your children, who will. We lived by those words.
Rose was a very positive person, full of life and generous with her time. She always said that she was blessed with two beautiful grand daughters and they brought her grandsons who cheered for the same hockey team as her (the Maple Leaf)! Emilie (Ian Paquette) and Anne (Taayo Simmonds).
Rose cherished and loved to spoil her great grand children, Henrik, Tessa, Nia and Obi. Hearing their stories always made her laugh with love.
Rose had two very dear friends, Pierrette McDonald and Joan Leclerc who were instrumental to her happiness and well being especially during the last seven years living at the Foyer des Pionniers. The family is forever grateful for their love and constant presence in Rose's life.
A private ceremony will be held by the family at a later date.
Donations to the Foyer des Pionniers and Notre Dame Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
